Wayne Rooney slammed on Twitter after tweeting support for England
The England captain is currently out with a knee injury but showed support to his team by tweeting a congratulations after they won a friendly match 3-2 in Germany yesterday.
But his message of support ended up backfiring on the 30-year-old as he received an influx of replies telling him not to return as England Captain.
He Rooney, 30, wrote: “What a result well done boys. Great spirit and to come back from down 2 in Germany. Buzzing.”

“They were good cause you didn’t play”
But social media users were not impressed and slated the player who captains both Manchester United and England.
Shqipelion wrote: “They were good cause you didn’t play.”
Twitter user Pelayo wrote “Don’t come back” while Graham Smith added “Speaking of come backs…don’t bother”.
Aleks chipped in with: “Make your country proud and retire.”
While Mr Haricotvert tweeted: “I hope you are as far away from this England team as possible.”
But not everyone agrees that Rooney should stay away from the team.
Robert Jone wrote: “All time record scorer. Brilliant player.”
Alex Alpha added: “You all forgot who’s the all time England leading scorer.”
Rooney is England’s all-time record goalscorer and has been part of the England team for 13 years.
