After a finch landed on the candidate’s podium during a Friday speech in Portland, fans couldn’t stay away from Twitter calling the moment symbolic and dubbing the fluttering supporter #BirdieSanders.
What did the moment mean for the late-night comics? James Corden says it’s the closest that Sanders himself has come to sending a tweet. Stephen Colbert had a run-in with a different bird during Monday’s late-night lineup. But that encounter was much more baffling that Sanders’ finch moment.
