Pinterest Launches How-To DIY Posts
Let’s be real — who hasn’t used Pinterest for beauty, hair, or fitness inspiration? The virtual corkboard platform is a prom season treasure trove, a crafting mecca, and an all-in-one party planning destination. It’s so popular for do-it-yourself hacks that “DIY” is the top search on the platform; in fact, there are over 4 billion DIY pins currently hosted. But out of those billions of ideas, some of them just seem a little too difficult to replicate IRL without spelled-out instructions. Think: the waterfall braid, rain-cloud-twinkle-light chandelier, or extreme contour look. That’s why Pinterest is rolling out a major update for everyone who relies on the social media platform for their DIY needs.
Starting today (March 29), the app is hosting How-To pins that make it easier to bring DIY pins to life.
How-To pins include step-by-step instructions on how to create the finished product, with a new “Try it yourself” section that includes the steps with accompanying photos so you can follow along.
So, the next time you want to bake a batch of gold-leaf artisanal doughnuts, fear not — Pinterest’s got your back!
