Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse is the latest couple that millennials love to ship. The two star in the CW hit series Riverdale as Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones. Romantically linked in the series, fans want to see “Bughead” as a couple in real life. Shippers are getting plenty of tidbits to keep the excitement going too. Both Lili and Cole are close friends, but just how close they truly are remains a mystery. Therefore, fans scour over every video, interview, and social media post looking for confirmation that Lili and Cole are together in real life. Now, fans think they have their “a-ha” moment with a new Instagram post.
In the post, Lili Reinhart said she was at a restaurant eating eggs and toast at 1 a.m. Fans didn’t think much about the photo until they realized that she had tagged Cole Sprouse. This has caused many to assume she was eating breakfast with Cole at 1 a.m.
The fact that neither Cole nor Lili have come forward to publicly deny or confirm the rumors has left many assuming they are in fact a couple who is trying to salvage their privacy.
You may see the photo Lili Reinhart posted below.
Fans were quick to notice that someone else took the photo as this is not your typical selfie. Lili’s hand is up in the air as if she’s trying to push a camera away. Since she tagged Cole in the photo and Cole seems to enjoy taking pictures of Lili, fans are convinced that not only was Cole her plus one but also took the photo.
While speculating on Cole’s and Lili’s relationship may be fun for some, it’s important to keep in mind that Lili Reinhart doesn’t like it.
In fact, she wrote a post on Tumblr about just how irritating it is to always have people speculating on her love life. Lili Reinhart wrote the following on Tumblr.
“It’s horrifying how invested some people are in MY love life. Emphasis on ‘my.’ It is mine. It is private. If a stranger’s love life is causing you anger, frustration or anxiety… please reevaluate your priorities.
“I also want to point out that there is a difference between shipping Betty and other characters, and shipping me with literally everyone I make eye contact with. There are so many other things to focus your attention and energy on.”
What do you think about Lili’s response to shipping? Do you think fans are taking it too far and should step back a bit?
