Rosé is the perfect summer tipple – cool, refreshing and reliable – but if you haven’t tried frozen rosé, aka frosé, you’re missing out. Essentially rosé in slushie form, frosé has recently got a 2017 summer makeover, and looks prettier than ever.
Pinterest is the hub of Instagrammable summer drinks and recipes, and over the past couple of months the search around DIY frosé recipes has gone into overdrive; there has been a 70 percent rise of people pinning frosé recipes since May, and the variations on the nation’s favourite beverage will no doubt inspire you, too.

Elderflower Rosé Slushie
To create this twist on the childhood slushy, just freeze rosé wine in an ice cube tray overnight and blend with elderflower liquor and fresh ice. Pour the mixture into a glass and serve with a sprig of lavender. (Courtesy of Abby Capalbo of Style Me Pretty.)
The Watermelon Frose
This super pretty frosé is super easy to make at home. Pour the rosé into ice cube trays and freeze overnight. In the morning blend the ice cubes with watermelon syrup and the juice from 1/2 lime. Garnish the frosé with a watermelon wedge. (Courtesy of How Sweet It Is.)
Dry Rosé Sorbet
This delicious summer cocktail is made with dry rosé wine and a simple syrup. Just combine the bottle of dry rosé wine, sugar, water and mint in a saucepan and stir over medium heat into it dissolves. Then chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. Then add the mixture to ice cream (of your choice or that you’ve made) and then freeze for 4-6 hours. Finsih by garneshing with mint. (Courtesy of How Sweet It Is.)
The Lemony Frosé
Pour the rosé into a ziplock bag and place in the freezer. Place strawberries and sugar in a heatproof bowl, cover with cling film and place over a pan of simmering water for 1 hour. Sieve out the strawberry juices and then blend with the frozen wine. Garnish with a twist of lemon. (Courtesy of Great British Chefs.)
The Classic Frosé
For the perfect frosé, choose a full-bodied rosé and freeze it for at least 6 hours. In the meantime, bring 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 water to boil until the sugar dissolves. Add strawberries and remove from the heat, letting the strawberry juice infuse the sugar to make a syrup. Strain the syrup through a sieve and chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
