England’s new home kit gets an absolute pasting on Twitter
England’s new red away strip made a winning debut in Berlin on Saturday.
Well, winning debut on the pitch, anyway. The kit itself got mercilessly destroyed by twitchy-thumbed fans on Twitter .
The national team’s new home kit got its first outing at Wembley against the Netherlands. But would it get the same sort of reception?
Naturally, fans were quick to share their opinions of it on Twitter. And to say it was a mixed bag would be an understatement…
There were those who just didn’t understand it…

If the grey sleeves were red then the kit would be ok. #EnglandKit

The red socks with that England kit just doesn’t make sense, it’s like putting a scoop of Baileys Ice Cream on your roast Lamb.

Looks like a child designed the new England kit. The colours are all wrong. I thought it was Holland in an away strip at first. #ENGvNED

I think that the England kit man has packed the team’s socks the wrong way around for these last two games #ENGHOL

Others actually quite liked it…

England kit is quality, people just love a moan

But, unsurprisingly, most people just wanted to lay into it…
Worst England kit I’ve seen since Saturday

This time England kit looks like it’s faded/run in the wash! Are the socks salmon pink!

Looks like you can’t have a good England team and a good England kit at the same time. A bit like an enjoyable hangover.

Who’s been messing with the @england kit?! Keep the tops ALL white and ALL red! Stop it with the dodgy sleeves!

This new England kit looks like when you forget your PE kit at school and have to throw anything together out the spares box

This England kit looks like a really bad Windows 95 theme

Whoever designed that England kit needs to get fired, my eyes are hurting
— B. Firmz (@KoTekkerzz) 29 March 2016
But at least this man gave it a fighting chance…
I had hoped the New England kit would grow on me.
I was wrong.
